Inspiral heads a select field of five for Friday's Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket.

The John and Thady Gosden-trained filly enjoyed an exceptional juvenile campaign and she picked up where she left off on her belated return at Royal Ascot, registering an impressive victory in the Coronation Stakes.

She will once again be ridden by Frankie Dettori as she bids for another Group One success.

Sandrine (seventh) and Prosperous Voyage (10th) renew Ascot rivalries, with Primo Bacio and French raider Sibila Spain completing the line up.

Chris Richardson, managing director for Inspiral's owner Cheveley Park Stud, is delighted Dettori will be onboard in a race that is part of the Qipco British Champions Series.

He said: "All through the spring Frankie was saying, 'she’s not there, she’s not there’, and we listened to what he had to say.

"We took a long-term view and looked to the Coronation Stakes, which is one of (Cheveley Park owner) Patricia Thompson’s favourite races, having won it three times before. We waited until she was cherry ripe and we were rewarded when she won impressively.

"Frankie knows her well, having ridden her in all her races bar her first, and Mrs Thompson is pleased that John (Gosden, joint trainer) is happy for him to ride her again on Friday.

"The Stud, and Flat racing, has always been her love, and she embraces every aspect of it."
