Aidan O'Brien’s Mother Earth displayed her class once again to take the Group One Prix Rothschild at Deauville.
The filly started as the 19-10 favourite under Ryan Moore and travelled towards the rear of the group for much of the race before being guided through a gap in the field with just over two furlongs remaining.

Having taken up the lead, Mother Earth was challenged by a trio of rivals in the closing stages of the contest, with Sagamiyra, Speak Of The Devil and Rougir all closing.
O’Brien’s runner prevailed, crossing the line a head in front of Sagamiyra, with Speak Of The Devil a further short head behind and Rougir the same distance away in fourth.
The victory follows Mother Earth’s 1000 Guineas win at the beginning of the season, after which she was second in the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches, third in the Coronation Stakes and runner-up in the Falmouth Stakes.
George Boughey enjoyed a first Group-race victory as Oscula ran out a decisive winner of the Sky Sports Racing Prix Six Perfections at Deauville.
Ridden by Ryan Moore, the filly went into the race having run respectably in both the Albany and Duchess of Cambridge Stakes.
A Group win had not yet been achieved, but a trip to France proved worthwhile as the Nick Bradley Racing-owned bay was an impressive all-the-way winner when crossing the line a length and half ahead of her nearest rival.
The Group Three Darley Prix de Cabourg went the way of Florian Guyader’s Have A Good Day (189-10), who ran prominently throughout but only took up the lead late on in a tightly-bunched finish.
The Group Three Prix de Psyche Sky Sports Racing was then claimed by 9-5 favourite Penja, who prevailed in a photo from for Cristian Demuro and Jean-Claude Rouget.
Jessica Harrington’s The Blue Brilliant finished as the runner-up, missing out by just a nose under Shane Foley, with Boughey’s Oaks runner-up Mystery Angel another three-quarters of a length back in third.
The concluding race on the card, the Listed Prix du Carrousel, was then won by Brokeback Mountain (7-1) for Gregory Benoist and Yann Barberot.
