Willie Mullins bagged the Galway Plate on Wednesday and needless to say, he holds a powerful hand in the Galway Hurdle.
Whether he can pull off the big race is debatable. The Closutton stable will surely celebrate a few winners on the day either way.
4.35 Guinness Novice Hurdle
It can't have been easy for Paul Townend to choose between the Willie Mullins trained pair. The weight Tax For Max receives from Farout was probably decisive.
Farout rates the selection all the same. He put in a poor round of hurdling on debut for this yard in February.
While not foot perfect, he jumped much better when winning in Cork last time out. If building on that, he will prove hard to beat here.
Selection: Farout 5-2
5.10 Guinness Beginners Chase
Bleu Berry is a bit long in the tooth to be making his debut over fences. He obviously hasn't been easy to train but has proven himself a classy sort in a relatively brief career.
An adequate round of jumping would probably suffice here. Speak Easy has the ability to go close.
Selection: Bleu Berry 15-8
5.45 Rockshore Novice Chase
Henry De Bromhead has his string in rampant form at the moment. He holds the key to this race.
Gin On Lime is penalised but the mare's allowance takes the edge off. This bold jumper could well gallop her rivals into submission here. Bold Enough isn't easily passed over.
Selection: Gin On Lime 2-1
6.15 Guinness Galway Hurdle
Tudor City won this race in 2019. He rates a sporting selection to repeat the dose here. He also ran respectably in last year's renewal.
His recent flat form, while not quite up to his best, suggests the flame still flickers. He races from the same mark on Thursday as when winning the race.
Belfast Banter has turned inside out of late. He should go close in his bid for a hat-trick of valuable prizes. Hearts Are Trumps could surprise at a juicy price.
Selection: Tudor City 28-1
6.45 Arthur Guinness Handicap Hurdle
Clonbury Bridge ideally wants an extra couple of furlongs. His recent form reads well though.
The horse remains relatively unexposed. Hopefully, this stiff finish will bring his stamina into play.
Karawaan looks sure to run well. The fitting of blinkers could make all the difference.
Selection: Clonbury Bridge 7-1
7.15 Guinness Novice Hurdle
M C Muldoon was an unlucky loser at Royal Ascot. His efforts over hurdles have failed to match his flat exploits thus far. It's still early days for him under this code mind you. He can make class tell here.
Banbridge arrives here in rare form. He should go well for a yard in fine form.
Selection: M C Muldoon 2-1
7.45 Guinness 0.0% Handicap Hurdle
Blackstair Rocco got a seven-pound hike in the weights for finishing second in Tipperary last time out.
While not ideal, given the distance back to the third that day the rise was acceptable. His run style suggests this step up in trip will play to the horse's strengths.
Quaker Island looks to have been given a chance by the handicapper.
Selection: Blackstair Rocco 9-2
8.15 Guinness INH Flat Race
Dads Lad heads the betting. That's understandable given connections. It's hard to trust a horse who has been turned over at odds on a couple of times mind you.
Spanish Present ran pretty well behind a decent sort on his bumper debut. He should go well if making the anticipated progression.
Selection: Spanish Present 7-1
