The fillies take centre stage on Sunday, where conditions remain extremely testing.
1.30 Tally Ho Stud Fillies Maiden
Those with experience don't set an exacting standard here. Dissociate is interesting and represents a yard in fine form, and has shown enough at home to justify a group race entry. Heart To Heart must be respected.
Selection: Dissociate 11/4
2.05 Heider Family Stables Gallinule Stakes
Erzindjan looks sure to go well. He will handle the ground, is improving and already sets the form standard. The step-up in trip promises to suit. Taipan looks a one paced sort. Attritional conditions should play to his strengths.
Selection: Erzindjan 4/1
2.40 pm Tattersalls Gold Cup
In a race where plenty of the runners have questions to answer, Broome is hard to oppose. He arrives here on the back of three early season wins, and is more comfortable at this trip than the majority of the opposition. Tiger Moth is a horse of some potential. He may have bigger targets down the road though. The ground is another nagging concern with him.
Selection: Broome 6/5
3.15 Tattersalls Irish 1,000 Guineas
Pretty Gorgeous rates the best bet on the card. She was a high class two-year-old, looking invincible when getting soft ground. She had plenty of scope to develop physically. I would expect to see a stronger model today and should relish the heavy ground. Joan Of Arc is one of the best bred horses in training. She may yet live up to her illustrious pedigree but looks too short in the betting here. No Speak Alexander has a chance if building on a recent win at this track.
Selection: Pretty Gorgeous 2/1
3.50 Betway Handicap
Lobo Rojo is a relatively unexposed horse. He ran pretty well over an inadequate trip last time out. Improvement should be forthcoming here. He wouldn't need to find a huge amount to go very close here. His stablemate Aesop is feared most.
Selection: Lobo Rojo 7/1
4.20 Irish Stallion Farms 'Habitat' Handicap
Fame And Acclaim tick a lot of boxes here. He arrives in good form, will handle the ground and is one of the class angles in the race. The valuable five pound claim of Dylan Browne McMonagle sweetens the deal still further. Layfayette is a tough, consistent sort who should give another good account of himself.
Selection: Fame And Acclaim 5/1
4.55 Betway Maiden
This looks an ordinary maiden for the track. Father's Day probably won't have to be anything special to make a winning debut. Draconid sets the standard.
Selection: Father's Day 6/4
5.30 Heed Your Hunch At Betway Handicap
Brazos was inconsistent last season. If arriving here on a going day, he certainly races off a competitive mark. He will love the ground, and is ridden by a talented claimer. Coltor remains a horse of some potential.
Selection: Brazos 12/1
