The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board (IHRB) has confirmed the hearing into a video of the amateur jockey Rob James mounting a dead horse will take place on Wednesday.

James apologised for his "stupidity" after footage of him mounting a dead horse in April 2016 emerged on social media

The IHRB subsequently launched an investigation into the conduct of the Cheltenham Festival-winning amateur.

That has concluded and evidence will be brought before the referrals body tomorrow.

"Our investigation into a video circulating on social media last week has concluded and a referral hearing will take place on Wednesday. The IHRB will not be commenting further on this matter until after the hearing," a statement posted on Twitter read.

It is not known if a verdict will be delivered tomorrow.

It comes after trainer Gordon Elliott was suspended from training for 12 months, with six months suspended, and ordered to pay costs of €15,000, following his referrals committee hearing last Friday after a photo of Elliott sitting on a dead horse named Morgan appeared on social media.
