The Aidan O'Brien-trained Love followed up her 1000 Guineas success with a nine-length win under Ryan Moore in the Investec Oaks, scorching to a record time in the Epsom Classic.

The 11-10 favourite was chased home by stablemate Ennistymon (6-1), with Frankly Darling (7-4) three-quarters of a length further back in third.

Passion and outsider Tiempo Vuela set a strong early tempo, with the pair well clear rounding Tattenham Corner.

However, as the field reached the three-furlong pole those exertions started to tell, as Ennistymon loomed large.

The patiently-ridden Love was then unleashed by Moore with two furlongs to run and the response was immediate.

Frankly Darling, who had been fractious on the way to post, launched her own effort under Frankie Dettori, but Love dashed further clear to hit the line in splendid isolation and stop the clock at two minutes 34.06 seconds, shaving seven hundredths of a second off Enable's previous Oaks record set in 2017.

"She was exceptional today," Moore gushed afterwards.

"We've always thought she's very good and she proved that in the Guineas, but today she's taken a step forward.

"Almost her best furlong was her last furlong. She's got a great temperament and I don't think she could have been any more impressive, really.

"You never expect to win an Oaks by that far. I don't know how far she won, but it felt like a very long way.

"Hopefully there's plenty to look forward to in the future - she'll be a threat to anything."
