Trained by Aidan O'Brien, the colt, on this day in 2009, completed a four-timer in the staying event - the only horse to achieve such a feat.
Yeats won seven Group One races in all, with the Goodwood Cup (twice) and the Irish St Leger among the haul. However, he will be remembered for his exploits at Ascot, with Johnny Murtagh in the plate as history was made 11 years ago.
