Two-time Grand National winner Tiger Roll has returned to Gordon Elliott's gallops after undergoing a minor procedure to remove a small chip in a joint and remains on course to make an appearance at the Cheltenham Festival, where he will bid for a remarkable fifth success.
Tiger Roll, who went under the knife in mid-November, could even be back on the track for the Boyne Hurdle at Navan on 16 February 16, although Elliott is not committing to that date yet and will instead monitor the progress of the legendary ten-year-old over the next few weeks.
"Tiger Roll is in great nick and he is back cantering away," his handler confirmed.
"I've been very happy with him and with the way he has progressed over the last few weeks.
"It is hard to know whether he will make the Boyne Hurdle at Navan. He could be back in time for it, you never know, but we will see how the next few weeks go.
"He will definitely make Cheltenham, that's for sure.
"He's very well at the moment and I couldn't be happier with him."
Tiger Roll is no bigger than 7-1 to emulate Red Rum by winning three Grand Nationals, with 7-4 the biggest price about him making it three in a row in the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase at the festival.
