Barry Geraghty returns to the saddle on Sunday as he teams up with the Enda Bolger-trained Ballyoisin in the Horse & Jockey Hotel Hurdle at Tipperary.

Geraghty has been out of action since breaking his leg at the Grand National meeting at Aintree in April.

Having originally hoped to have been back sooner, Geraghty heeded his surgeon's advice to take his time and is returning just as the National Hunt season steps up a gear.

"I'm looking forward to it, it will be great to get back going again," he said.

"I've been riding out and schooling at Jessie's (Harrington), Nicky's (Henderson), Gavin's (Cromwell) and Gordon's (Elliott) so I'm in good shape.

"Ballyoisin is a lovely horse to come back on, but JP (McManus) has three in it. I can only ride the one and I've won some nice races on Ballyoisin. He's done really well over fences, but he's decent over hurdles as well.

"It will just be nice to start back and the main thing is to get a clear run. I suppose the saving grace is that the season is just about to get going."
