Racing at Sandown goes ahead today as planned after officials declared frost not to be a problem, however the meeting at Exeter has been abandoned due to frost.

There had been a slight worry about overnight temperatures dipping below freezing at the Esher track, leading to a precautionary inspection being called for day one of the Tingle Creek meeting.

But clerk of the course Andrew Cooper reported via Twitter: "Racing goes ahead @Sandownpark on Friday. After early frost last night, temperatures now +4 and rising."

The opening afternoon features the Grade Two Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle at 2.25.

The chase course is officially good, good to soft in places, while it is good to soft, good in places on the hurdles track.

Elsewhere Exeter officials held an inspection after found the track to be unraceable due to a heavy frost.
