Thistlecrack will make his much anticipated chasing debut at Chepstow in October.
Colin Tizzard's eight-year-old took the staying hurdling division by storm last season going five races unbeaten, including wins at the Cheltenham and Aintree festivals.
However, connections have taken the bold move to send him chasing rather than taking the easy option of mopping up over hurdles.
There was, though, a small chance of him running in the French Champion Hurdle at one point, a race won by Paul Nicholls' Ptit Zig, and it may be the one that got away.
"On the bare form with Ptit Zig we should have hosed up in the French race," said Tizzard's son and assistant Joe on Racing UK.
"But, he had puss in his foot before Punchestown and we made the decision he'd done enough for the season.
"Thistlecrack will probably go to Chepstow for the two and a half mile novice chase there in the second week of October and we'll see how he gets on."
