The Gurkha stepped up dramatically on his maiden success to take Classic honours in the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches French 2000 Guineas.
Supplemented on the back on his convincing win at Navan, the Aidan O'Brien-trained colt stormed clear in the final furlong to strike in impressive fashion at Deauville.
The start of the race was delayed as The Gurkha was re-plated, but it did not damage his chances as he travelled well throughout.
Ryan Moore tracked First Selection for most of the race, with Simon Crisford's representative heading the group in the centre of the course and Zelzal leading four horses on the near side.
However, The Gurkha settled the issue in a matter of strides to give O'Brien a fourth win in the Pouliches.
First Selection, seventh to Galileo Gold in the Qipco 2000 Guineas, ran a terrific race as he held on gamely for second place, with Dicton third.
The two other British runners, Richard Fahey's Birchwood and Crazy Horse from John Gosden's stable, were well beaten.
