Cue Card is set to go off a short-priced favourite against six rivals in the Bibby Financial Services Punchestown Gold Cup on Wednesday.

With Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Don Cossack ruled out on Sunday and Willie Mullins deciding to run Vautour over two miles 24 hours earlier, what looked set to be a mouthwatering clash has cut up somewhat.

Cue Card, already the winner of the Betfair Chase, King George and Betfred Bowl this season, crashed out at the third-last at Cheltenham when still going well.

Mullins does still pose the biggest threat to Colin Tizzard's star as he runs Djakadam and Don Poli, However, neither proved a match for Cue Card at Aintree.

Dual Irish Gold Cup winner Carlingford Lough runs for John Kiely and JP McManus, with Noel Meade set to saddle Road To Riches.

Henry de Bromhead's Smashing and the Ted Walsh-trained Foxrock, ridden by Denis O'Regan, make up the septet.
