Success Days awaits ground conditions

Ground conditions will dictate which route trainer Ken Condon takes with Success Days after outlining two potential options for the dual Group Three winner.

The Maynooth handler is to step the four-year-old back up in class after finishing second on his seasonal bow in the Listed Alleged Stakes at the Curragh earlier this month.

Following that effort Condon will now aim the son of Jeremy at either the Camelot EBF Mooresbridge Stakes back at the Kildare track or the Huxley Stakes at Chester.

Condon said: "I was very happy with that run. He went a bit left during the closing stages, and most the way up the straight, but he has come out of the race very well.

"If last year is anything to go by there should be significant improvement from his first to second run.

"He will probably either go for the Mooresbridge or the Huxley Stakes. It all just depends on the ground and where it is more suitable.

"He is very ground dependent and the owner is happy that he knows he needs soft ground to be at his best.

"He has good form going left handed, and Chester can get very soft, but then if the Curragh came up soft then he would probably stay at home.

"The good thing is the Mooresbridge is on the Monday and the Huxley Stakes the Thursday of that week, so it won't interfere with any of his plans which way we go."
