Grendisar enhanced his excellent record at Lingfield with another big-race victory in the Coral Easter Classic All-Weather Middle Distance Championships Conditions Stakes.
Marco Botti's six-year-old had won six times from 16 previous appearances at the track and only finished out of the first three on a couple of occasions.
He was placed behind Saturday's Dubai Turf favourite Tryster in both the Winter Derby and in this race a year ago and having gone one better in the Winter Derby last month, he was a heavily supported 4-6 favourite to add to his tally in this £200,000 contest.
Adam Kirby was happy to play a waiting game aboard the market-leader, settling him on the outside of runners in midfield.
For a moment rounding the home turn it looked as though the odds-on shot could have his work cut out after French challenger Metropol quickened up well to lead, but Botti's charge found an extra gear inside the final furlong and was good value for his one-length success.
Fire Fighting came home strongly to edge out Metropol for second.
Kirby said: "I can't explain what it means to me, slogging it out all winter. You put a lot of graft in.
"Unfortunately I missed out on the all-weather championship but it's just nice to get onto a good horse like this and for him to show how good he is."
Botti said: "I was happy with his position and I thought he would pick up.
"He was travelling well and I knew he would quicken in the last furlong.
"Once he got upsides Metropol he put his head down and really went forward.
"He deserves to win a big race like this and he's been a brilliant horse for us.”
Irish challenger Captain Joy narrowly outpointed fellow grey Sovereign Debt in the Ladbrokes All-Weather Mile Championships Conditions Stakes.
A close third in last year's renewal for trainer Tracey Collins, Captain Joy was an 11-1 shot to go a couple of places better, having returned from a lengthy absence with victory at Dundalk last month.
A smart start allowed Pat Smullen to acquire a handy position and he tracked 2014 winner Captain Cat for much of the one-mile journey.
The pair kicked on rounding the home turn, but while Captain Cat faltered, Captain Joy stuck to his guns admirably.
Sovereign Debt got a dream run up to the fence and mounted a strong challenge, but Smullen's mount was always doing enough and held him at bay by half a length meaning David NIcholls' charge was runner-up for the second successive year.
Favourite Mindurownbusiness had every chance and was only a length further back in third.
Smullen said: "He's a lovely horse. He's a very good horse on the turf but he's a real all-weather horse. This surface brings the best out of him.
"He tries very hard and it's a great training performance by Tracey to get him back from near death. He had surgery after having colic.
"Tracey has been very patient with him and got him qualified.
"This horse dig deeps for you."
