Downpatrick's Wednesday meeting has been cancelled following an early morning course inspection, with Clonmel's Thursday fixture also called off.

The Turf Club has announced that the Downpatrick track was found to be unfit for racing after 10 millimetres of rain and snow overnight. As a consequence the fixture scheduled for today, Wednesday, 2 March, will not go ahead.

Although the track was raceable on Tuesday evening, an adverse overnight weather forecast had put the jumps fixture in doubt.

The going was soft to heavy for the seven-race card, which was due to begin at 2.05pm.

A 12.0pm course inspection at Clonmel on Wednesday ahead of the scheduled fixture on Thursday, 3 March deemed also the track unfit for racing.

The course had been monitored over the past few days, but the situation deteriorated this morning following further heavy showers.
