Willie Mullins will consider letting Vautour line up in next Saturday's Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown.
The seven-year-old moved back to the head of the ante-post betting for the Cheltenham Gold Cup after stable companion and fellow Rich Ricci-owned star Djakadam fluffed his lines when falling in the BetBright Trial Chase on Saturday.
Vautour was last seen going down by a head to Cue Card in a thrilling renewal of the King George VI Chase at Kempton on St Stephen's Day and Mullins is undecided as to whether to run him again before his return to Prestbury Park in March.
The champion trainer raised the Denman Chase at Newbury on 13 February and the Red Mills Chase at Gowran Park on the same day as possible alternatives to next weekend's Leopardstown feature.
"I don't know if I want to run Vautour anywhere before Cheltenham," said Mullins.
"He could go to Leopardstown on Saturday for the Irish Gold Cup and there is also the race in Newbury and the Red Mills at Gowran.
"They would be the options if he is to have another run."
