Paddy Brennan was fined and banned for eleven days for his thrilling winning ride on Cue Card in the William Hill King George VI Chase.
Brennan, rejuvenated this season since his link up with Colin Tizzard's star chaser, was also find €5,600 after the Kempton showpiece.
The stewards adjudged the Galway rider to have used his whip above the permitted level and he will now miss January 9-19 inclusive.
Ruby Walsh, rider of the narrow runner-up Vautour, also fell foul of the officials, picking up a two-day whip ban which will be served on January 9 and 10.
Brennan would have been in line to ride Theatre Guide for Tizzard in the rearranged Coral Welsh National at Chepstow on January 9.
