Paul Nicholls has decided to run Ptit Zig in the Powers Irish Whiskey Chase at Down Royal on Saturday rather than Saphir Du Rheu.

Both horses had other entries, but the Ditcheat trainer has chosen to take Ptit Zig to Northern Ireland for the Grade Two over two and a half miles.

However, Saphir Du Rheu is still set to make his seasonal debut in the next few days, either in the Colin Parker Memorial Intermediate Chase at Carlisle on Sunday or the Weatherbys VAT Services Graduation Chase at Kempton on Monday.

Nicholls tweeted: "Ptit Zig is going to Down Royal not Saphir Du Rheu who will go to Carlisle or Kempton."
