Hidden Cyclone is likely to bypass an engagement at Cheltenham this weekend in favour of the Fortria Chase at Navan on 8 Novembe.

John 'Shark' Hanlon's stable star was due to carry top weight in the £50,000 winner.co.uk Handicap Chase, a race which has had its distance reduced this year to two miles.

The likes of Johns Spirit, Next Sensation and Astracad were possible opponents, but Hanlon has decided to stay at home.

"He's not going, I don't think," he said.

"He'll have to carry top weight and I'm 99 per cent sure he won't be going. He'll maybe go to Navan in two weeks for the Grade Two Chase there.

"His first major aim of the season will be the John Durkan at Punchestown."
