VIDEO: McCoy yet to decide on plan for future

Tony McCoy is enjoying retirement, though he revealed today that he still rides out at Jonjo O’Neill’s yard, but has yet to make any decisions about his future.

The 20-time UK Champion Jockey has been indulging his love of sports since retiring in April, attending big occasions like the FA Cup and Wimbledon, and intends to play in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in October.

Speaking to Robert Hall during RTÉ Sport’s coverage of Wimbledon, he said: "I’ve been riding out a little bit. I’ve ridden out in Jonjo’s a few mornings a week and I’ll continue to do that."

McCoy's decision to take his time before planning any future career move was always the plan. "I always said I was going to take the summer off and do all the things I was never able to do before, before I decide what I am going to do. What that is I’m not sure.”

Speaking about replacement Barry Geraghty and his time riding in the famous green and gold hooped colours of JP and Nóirín McManus, he added: “He’s a first class jockey and there are some very good horses to ride. I was very privileged to ride for Noirin and JP for 10 or 11 years and we had some great days together. They are the most recognised colours in jump racing.”
