Phillip Enright is to undergo surgery after breaking his left leg in a fall at Tipperary on Thursday.

Enright sustained the injury when he parted company with Redwood Castle at the fourth-last flight in the Follow @TipperaryRaces On Twitter Maiden Hurdle.

"Phillip has a fractured left tibia. He is in the regional hospital in Limerick and is awaiting surgery today on it," said Dr Adrian McGoldrick, the Irish Turf Club's chief medical officer.

"I spoke with him earlier this morning and I spoke to the consultant in casualty and they confirmed the injury."
