A tilt at the Galway Plate is on the agenda for Cantlow following his recent sixth-placed finish in the Irish Grand National.

Paul Webber's 10-year-old, who has not tasted success since landing a valuable Newbury handicap in 2013, showed signs of a revival at Fairyhouse having run below his best on each of his previous starts this season.

The testing conditions were thought to be against him at Fairyhouse, and the likely better ground at Galway has connections dreaming of big-race success.

Webber said: "Considering how bad the ground was at Fairyhouse, I thought he ran a very good race indeed.

"He's always preferred good ground and the jockey (Tony McCoy) said when he came back in that it was the ground that beat him as he felt he had plenty more to give.

"He had a hard race that day so he's gone off to (JP McManus') Martinstown Stud for a little holiday now.

"We'll get him back nice and fresh and train him towards the Galway Plate in the summer."
