Harry Fry is ready to let Rock On Ruby tackle three miles for the first time in the Ladbrokes World Series Hurdle at the Punchestown Festival.
The 2012 Champion Hurdle winner was due to test his powers over the longer distance in the World Hurdle at Cheltenham last month, but was ruled out after a dirty scope.
He recovered in time to line up in last week's Aintree Hurdle over an intermediate trip of two and a half miles and ran creditably to fill the runner-up spot behind Jezki after being hampered by the final-flight fall of Arctic Fire.
Fry said: "It's very much in our thoughts to bring Rock On Ruby to Punchestown for a first try over three miles. Arctic Fire unfortunately had a heavy fall at Aintree and we got caught up in the melee, but it was a solid run and we were coming back at the end.
"He's never run a bad race over hurdles and missed Cheltenham so is still relatively fresh.
"Watching the race back at Aintree, it looked like three miles would suit him and Noel (Fehily) felt he was coming back at them. All he was doing was staying on at the line.
"He deserves his chance at the trip at Punchestown."
Rock On Ruby is one of 27 entries for the World Series Hurdle, with Annie Power, Arctic Fire and Hurricane Fly among a formidable team for champion trainer Willie Mullins.
Harrington could also run Jezki's brother Jetson.
Other possible contenders include the Tony Martin-trained Dedigout, Noel Meade's Monksland and Paul Nicholls' Zarkandar.
