Dedigout followed up his Galmoy Hurdle success when winning a dramatic race for the Ladbrokes Ireland Boyne Hurdle at Navan.
The Tony Martin-trained nine-year-old jumped into the lead at the third-last but looked to have a fight on his hands when Ruby Walsh brought Briar Hill to challenge at the final flight.
However, he took a crashing fall at that obstacle, leaving Dedigout (6-4 favourite) to land the Grade Two spoils under Bryan Cooper by two and a half lengths.
Martin said: "He jumped well coming back to this trip. He always had the pace and the ground helped his stamina come into play.
"Ruby was a bit unlucky and who knows what would have happened if he'd stood up, I thought we had had a little left and it would have been interesting to see."
Dedigout was cut to 20-1 from 25-1 for the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at Cheltenham with Paddy Power, who cut Briar Hill to 16-1 from 25-1. Boylesports left Dedigout unchanged at 20-1.
However, Martin warned: "Hopefully our fellow is OK in the morning, and there will have to be at least yielding in the ground wherever he goes.
"We'll get him home and see where we go from there."
Forever Gold (9-2) ran out a ready winner of the Dunsany Handicap Hurdle for trainer Edward Cawley.
The eight-year-old led at the third-last in the hands of Davy Russell and shrugged aside the challenge of I Shot The Sheriff to score by 11 lengths. Mick Spadoun was third.
Cawley said: "He'd a fall over fences at Fairyhouse last month and that's a nice confidence booster.
"If he gets into it, he could come back here next month for the good novice handicap chase."
