Violet Dancer produced a bold display from the front to land the hugely valuable Betfair Hurdle at Newbury.
Sent straight to the head of affairs by Josh Moore, the 20-1 chance had managed to build up a big lead approaching the third-last flight.
Cheltenian was well placed to get on terms, but Violet Dancer was not for stopping, coming home by three lengths to give trainer Gary Moore his third win in the race after Heathcote (2007) and Wingman (2008).
Cheltenian (22-1) held off Activial (8-1) for second, while Calipto (13-2F) plugged on for fourth.
