Present View, a leading fancy for the BetBright Chase at Kempton later this month, has met with a setback that will rule him out for the rest of the campaign.

However, trainer Jamie Snowden expects the seven-year-old, a winner at the Cheltenham Festival in 2014, to be back in action next term.

The Paddy Power Gold Cup, in which he was third this season, will again be an early target.

"It's a real shame. He's just got a bit of remodelling to his tibia. Thankfully it's not a drastic injury, but it's going to hold us this season and we'll have him back for next season," said the Lambourn handler.

"I think the Paddy Power is the obvious thing to do. He will want to go up in trip at some point. The Paddy Power meeting tends to be run on slightly softer ground so it makes sense to look at that again."
