Ihtimal, winner of last year's UAE 1000 Guineas and Oaks at Meydan, has been put down following an accident during exercise this morning.
Trained by Saeed bin Suroor, the Shamardal filly finished a close third behind Miss France in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket and was fifth of 17 behind Taghrooda in the Oaks at Epsom.
She sustained an injury at Al Quoz Stables in Dubai during trackwork and could not be saved.
Bin Suroor told www.godolphin.com: "We are deeply saddened at the loss of Ihtimal, she was a very talented racehorse and will be sorely missed."
