Jetson is set to head straight for the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival after coming up short at Leopardstown over the festive period.
The Jessica Harrington-trained 10-year-old signed off last season by beating wonder-mare Quevega at the Punchestown Festival and has run two excellent races in defeat since returning to action.
After chasing home Lieutenant Colonel in the Hatton's Grace at Fairyhouse, he got closer to the same rival in last month's Christmas Hurdle and he is now being readied for a return to Prestbury Park.
In two previous visits to Cheltenham, Jetson has finished third and fifth in the last two runnings of the Pertemps Final.
Harrington said: "He's a very game horse and ran his heart out again, as he always does.
"He was probably a little bit intimidated when the big horse came alongside him, but he stuck at it well and we'll probably go straight to Cheltenham now.
"The only option between now and then over here is the Galmoy Hurdle and he'd have to carry a 7lb penalty in that for winning a Grade One.
"I think we'll go straight for the World Hurdle. He's run well there in the past and we know he likes the track."
