Dermot Weld insists his high-class Flat stayer Forgotten Rules will not be making an appearance at this year's Cheltenham Festival.

The Moyglare Stud-owned gelding made an impressive racecourse debut in a bumper at last season's Punchestown Festival and went on to win at Galway before signing off his campaign with victory in the British Champions Long Distance Cup at Ascot.

He is quoted by some bookmakers for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle, and is as short as 10-1 in places, but he will not be jumping an obstacle any time soon.

Weld said: "Forgotten Rules is 10-1 for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle and I'm seeing his price shortening but I want to make clear he is on his holidays and has not seen a hurdle.

"Hurdling was never on his agenda and he certainly won't be running at Cheltenham."
