Midnight Prayer has been declared a non-runner in the Coral Welsh National at Chepstow this afternoon.

Alan King's stayer was a leading contender for the marathon handicap chase, but the nine-year-old had to be withdrawn after he was found to have had heat in a leg.

Midnight Prayer claimed the four-miler at the Cheltenham Festival in March and finished ninth in the Hennessy upon his return to action at Newbury last month.
