Clarcam paid Vautour a huge compliment as he put in an eye-catching display to easily land the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice Chase at Navan.
Second to Willie Mullins' budding superstar on his chasing debut, Gordon Elliott's charge was sent off the 10-11 favourite to go one better, and gave his supporters very little cause for concern.
Taking a narrow advantage at the third-last, Bryan Cooper barely had to move a muscle as Clarcam pulled clear, eventually coming home five lengths to the good over Sizing Codelco.
Elliott said: "It was a good round of jumping. I know he was getting all the weight, but it was still a good performance.
"I'll have a chat with Michael and Eddie (O'Leary) and see where we go, but after that you'd nearly have to look at the Grade One at Leopardstown over Christmas.
"Willie's horse looks unbeatable, but the fences still have to be jumped and you can't be afraid of one horse."
Cooper was on the sidelines for some months after Clarcam's fall in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham in March left him with a badly broken leg.
He said: "Cheltenham was one of those things, but he couldn't have been more impressive there. It was an unbelievable round of jumping.
"He's probably better over a fence than hurdles and he's going the right way. He can only go on for that."
That was the first leg of a double for Cooper, who booted Wounded Warrior home to land the Drogheda Beginners Chase.
Noel Meade's 11-10 favourite tracked the early pacesetter Empire Of Dirt and though he was joined when hitting the front by Blood Cotil, he strode away from that rival to win by six and a half lengths.
There's a number of excellent horses on the roll of honour for the Kells Maiden Hurdle and Modem added his name to a list including Vautour, Un Atout and Monksland.
Jessica Harrington's 12-1 chance was always prominent under Robbie Power and after taking up the running two out, he stayed on well to beat Last Encounter by a length and a half.
Robert Tyner's Killeena House (10-3) recovered from a slight bump at the second last to run out a convincing winner of the Dunmoe Mares Maiden Hurdle, coming home a length and three-quarters clear of Emcon under a motionless Philip Enright.
Tyner and Enright completed a double of their own when Its The Ice I LIke (7-4F) saw of all challenges in the home straight to breeze home in the Dean Hill Handicap Chase, beating Heavenly Brook by four and a half lengths,
Whatareyoudoingtome (25-1) got up close home under Luke Dempsey to land the Yellow Furze Handicap Hurdle, while the 2015 Navan Race Membership Club On Sale Flat Race went the way of Willie Mullins' Turcagua (5-6F) under the trainer's son Patrick.
