Philip Fenton's appeal in relation to the severity of his three-year disqualification by the Turf Club will be heard on 16 December.

The Cheltenham Festival-winning trainer's hearing has been set for 10am in the Turf Club at the Curragh.

Fenton was called before officials last Saturday after being found guilty of possessing anabolic steroids and other banned substances at a district court hearing in Carrick-on-Suir last month.

His disqualification period from training horses is scheduled to begin from midnight.

On 1 March next year he is due to be disqualified entirely from any horseracing environment.
