Connections of Telescope feel Ryan Moore is just the jockey to make the most of his rail draw in the Breeders' Cup Turf at Santa Anita on Saturday.
Moore, fresh from his victory on Adelaide in the Cox Plate in Australia on Saturday, knows the horse well, having partnered the Michael Stoute-trained colt in his last eight races.
Harry Herbert, racing manager for owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, said: "I'm glad we've got Ryan Moore as he's the man to get Telescope out of the number one gate.
"We'll leave it up to Ryan. I'm sure he'll be able to sort that out and hopefully get a lead.
"This horse has got good tactical speed and has been prepared solely for this race. That's why he hasn't run since the Juddmonte (International, third to Australia).
"Telescope goes well on fast ground and is a willing and honest horse."
Herbert revealed Telescope will stay in training next year.
"Hopefully, he will have an international campaigner through 2015," he said.
"This is not categorically his last race of 2014, however, as he is in the Hong Kong Vase. It depends how he runs on Saturday and comes out of the race."
Work rider Kevin Bradshaw put Telescope through his paces with a routine piece of work on Tuesday morning.
