Cirrus Des Aigles is set to take on eight rivals when he makes his fourth successive appearance in the Cirrus Des Aigles at Ascot on Saturday.

Corine Barande-Barbe's pride and joy took the showpiece event in 2011 and has finished second in the last two renewals behind Frankel and Farhh respectively.

The eight-year-old still will be out to make amends for being demoted to fifth place after he was first past the post in the Prix Dollar at Longchamp earlier this month.

Frankel's full-brother Noble Mission bids to uphold family honour and would be a popular winner for trainer Jane Cecil.

Dermot Weld's lightly-raced colt Free Eagle has also been declared.

Fellow Irish challenger Ruler Of The World, who was a close third 12 months ago, will attempt to go two places better for trainer Aidan O'Brien.

Last year's Investec Derby winner was unplaced behind Treve in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, as was Roger Charlton's Al Kazeem.

David Simcock's globetrotter Sheikhzayedroad, the John Gosden-trained Western Hymn, Roger Varian's Ayrad and Richard Hannon's supplementary entry Pether's Moon complete the line-up.

As expected, The Grey Gatsby was an absentee, while O'Brien has taken out Kingsbarns and Kingfisher.
