Ante-post favourite Air Pilot has missed the cut by one for Saturday's Betfred Cambridgeshire at Newmarket.

Ralph Beckett's charge had been well backed throughout the week following an easy victory at Newbury last Saturday, but he was number 36 in a race restricted to 35 runners.

Last year's winner Educate tops the field, with Mickael Barzalona returning to Newmarket for the first time since ending his Godolphin association.

John Gosden runs Cornrow and Maverick Wave as he looks to improve his already impressive record in the race. Both colts are owned by Princess Haya of Jordan.

Luca Cumani's Velox has been backed in recent days with Hugo Palmer's Extremity another who has been popular with punters of late.

The 2012 winner Bronze Angel has another crack with John Ryan's in-form Tenor also towards the head of the weights.

Niceofyoutotellme, Queensberry Rules and Balty Boys are all among the massive field.
