Frankie Dettori has given Ruler Of The World a ringing endorsement as the dust settles on his all-the-way success in the Prix Foy at Longchamp last weekend.

Winner of last year's Investec Derby, the Aidan O'Brien-trained colt was having his first start since finishing down the field in the Dubai World Cup in March, and in doing so put his case for another crack at the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

He was seventh in the all-aged middle-distance championship 12 months ago, and is a best-priced 16-1 to go a few places better back at the Paris track on October 5.

Dettori, who was riding the son of Galileo for the first time, told At The Races: "I was very impressed. He's a very, very good horse.

"The time was great, he did it all on his own - he had to do it the hard way and it never looked in doubt.

"He'd also had a long lay-off and I'm sure that Aidan will improve him a little bit more and he is the Derby winner.

"Aidan told me he stays well and I didn't want it to turn into a sprint, I had to make the first move to make sure I took the sting out of the field and it worked."
