David Wachman believes last season's Phoenix Stakes winner Sudirman will improve a great deal for an encouraging comeback run in the Lacken Stakes at Naas on Monday.

The Group One-winning son of Henrythenavigator had not been seen for 233 days and having travelled well upsides the hugely impressive Due Diligence for a long way, he looked in need of the run close home as he faded into fourth place.

Wachman said: "He's fine and has come out of the race in good form.

"He needed the run and got a bit tired at the finish.

"I'll have to look at the weather reports before I decide where he'll go next as he wants the ground as quick as possible."

The Tipperary-based trainer also had news of last year's Duke of Cambridge Stakes heroine Duntle, who has not been sighted so far in 2014.

"Duntle has a problem so we won't be seeing her until the second half of the season," said Wachman.
