Rebel Fitz is due to continue his education over fences in Sunday's Like-A-Butterfly Novice Chase at Tipperary.
Mick Winters' 2012 Galway Hurdle winner has won five of his six starts since switching to the bigger obstacles but is considered to be at his best on decent ground.
Winters is planning a run on Sunday and then head to Cheltenham's first meeting in October - ground permitting - before giving him a mid-winter break.
"He's fine and all going well he'll have his next run in Tipperary on Sunday," said the trainer.
"The owner would then like him to maybe go to Cheltenham for the October meeting, as long as the ground is good.
He could then have a bit of a break after that."
Rebel Fitz is one of 13 entries for the Grade Three that also include Toner D'Oudairies, Sizing Italy and Sizing Rio from Henry De Bromhead's yard and Golden Wonder.
