David Marnane is looking forward to seeing impressive maiden scorer Boom The Groom test his powers at Listed level in the Coolmore Canford Cliffs Stakes at Tipperary on Friday evening.
The Kodiac colt proceeded to make all the running on his racecourse debut at Fairyhouse a month ago and the form received a boost when the third home, Pixie Hollow, struck on her next start at Sligo on Wednesday.
Marnane is hoping the rain stays away from Tipperary ahead of his colt's next assignment.
"It was nice to see the filly he beat win so easily in Sligo and the horse is in good order," said the trainer.
"He came out of his last race well and this is next port of call. It's a step up, so we'll see how he gets on.
"I'm happy with him and hopefully the ground will be all right. He likes good ground and if it's any worse than that, he might not run."
Boom The Groom faces no easy task as he looks to keep his unbeaten record intact, with Aidan O'Brien double-handed.
The master of Ballydoyle unleashes runaway Gowran Park winner Indian Maharaja, as well as Bluebell.
John Murphy is confident Captain's Affair can prove his 33-1 debut victory at Gowran Park was no fluke.
The youngster carries the colours of American-based owners Team Valor for the first time.
"He's in great form, he's working really well and he's ready to go," said Murphy.
"I wasn't surprised by his first run, he's a good horse.
"I think he's come on a lot for that and I hope he'll run well on his first run for his new owners.
"There's a possibility he'll run in America later in the year, so we'll see how we go."
The field is completed by Jim Bolger-trained newcomer Ceisteach and David Wachman's Fly To The Moon.
Also featuring on a good card is the Abergwaun Stakes, where Cape Of Approval goes in search of a hat-trick.
Three-times winner as a three-year-old last season, the Tommy Stack-trained son of Cape Cross has taken his game to another level in recent months, securing back-to-back victories at Cork, most recently beating the high-class Maarek in the Listed Midsummer Sprint.
He has to give weight to 11 opponents on Friday evening, but Fozzy Stack, assistant to his father, is confident he will be up to the task.
Stack said: "He's in good order, we've been happy with him since his last run and hopefully he'll run a big race.
"They are giving a bit of rain overnight, so let's see what happens.
"There is no plan for him, that will be down to the weather. He'll go wherever the ground is soft."
The Stack team are represented in the same five-furlong contest by Scream Blue Murder, who is fitted with headgear for the first time.
"We're going to put the blinkers on her to try and sharpen her up a bit. She worked well in them the other day. Hopefully she'll run OK," said Stack.
Marnane saddles the consistent Red Dubawi, who was not disgraced when fourth behind multiple Group One-winning mare Sea Siren in the Listed Belgrave Stakes at Fairyhouse.
Marnane said: "We're looking for a bit of ease in the ground for him, really.
"He ran nicely the last day and has shown up well every time this year, but he is a horse who is much better on very soft ground.
"We'll keep tipping away with him as he's a big, stuffy horse who needs runs."
Other notable runners in the Abergwaun include Mick Halford's Russian Soul and the Eddie Lynam-trained Boston Rocker.
