Preview and selections for Navan on Saturday

Noel Meade appears to have spotted a good opportunity for a winning return for Donnas Palm at Navan on Saturday.

The classy grey has to concede upwards of 10lb to his five Le Grande Chase opponents but kept good company during his first campaign over fences and won a Grade Two at this venue in February.

This two and a half miles is plenty short enough for Our Victoria so he may have most to fear from the Oliver Brady pair of Imperial Shabra and Shabra Charity.

Meade has also chosen this meeting as the comeback point for Bat Masterston, who goes for gold in the Albany Hurdle.

Good enough to make the frame in Grade Two company last term, the four-year-old hasn't been seen since the Irish National meeting, with a below-par performance there coming at the end of a long, arduous spell.

Chief rivals Local Celebrity and Make A Track also have absences to overcome, whereas Reafadda ran at Listowel only last week but doesn't look up to the required standard so far.

Tofino Bay developed into a smart hurdler and now tackles the larger obstacles in the Kells Beginners Chase.

Meade could again provide most resistance, with recent Galway scorer Silverhand the pick of his duo.

The action commences with the Navan Maiden Hurdle at 2.30 and Giant's Quest is sure to have his share of support after blowing the cobwebs away on the level at Down Royal.

Tasitiocht hit the deck at Gowran Park last week but, providing that has left no lasting scars, it will be disappointing if she can't make it second-time lucky over timber in the Racing Again Wednesday 10th October Mares Maiden Hurdle.

Give Us A Hand couldn't justify favouritism at Tramore and strives for compensation in a competitive Drogheda Handicap Hurdle.
