A decision on whether Sapphire takes up her entry in the Gain Horse Feeds Irish St. Leger at the Curragh on Saturday will not be made until later in the week.
Dermot Weld's four-year-old has been in tremendous heart this season, with her only defeat in three races coming at the hands of the top-class Izzi Top in the Group One Pretty Polly Stakes.
Her reverse came over 10 furlongs but were she to run this weekend, she would be attempting the one-mile-six-furlong trip for the first time.
She is owned by Moyglare Stud and their racing manager, Stan Cosgrave, said: "I don't know if she runs or not yet.
"Dermot will decide but he won't make up his mind until later in the week.
"We'll see what else runs and what the ground is like."
The ground will also be the deciding factor for Steps To Freedom.
Jessica Harrington's dual purpose performer ran a fine race under a big weight in the Ebor last time out and would be stepping up to Group One company for the first time.
"It depends purely on the ground," said Harrington.
"It dried up but more rain is due."
