Rebel Fitz to hit Tipperary on path to Champion Hurdle

Rebel Fitz will take the next step on the road to what could be a Champion Hurdle challenge when he lines up at Tipperary next month.

The seven-year-old has won his last four starts, beginning with a maiden on the Flat at Clonmel in May before beating Captain Cee Bee in the Grimes Hurdle at Tipperary and then landing the Galway Hurdle among great scenes of celebration.

He followed up in the J.P McManus Hurdle at Cork, and is now set to run in the Tipperary Hurdle on 7 October.

Cork trainer Michael Winters said: "He's jumping out of his skin and the plan is to run at Tipperary providing the ground is right."

Rebel Fitz is a 33-1 chance for the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham in March with Coral and Boylesports.
