Ruby Walsh is targeting a return to action at the Listowel Festival in September following his injury at Galway last week

Ruby Walsh hopes to be back in the saddle for the start of next month's Listowel Festival.

The leading rider is out of action after suffering a broken ankle in a nasty fall in last week's Galway Hurdle, in which he parted company with the Willie Mullins-trained Drive Time.

The first day of the Listowel Festival is 17 September and Walsh feels that date is a realistic target for his comeback.

"We're looking at around six weeks, so Listowel would be a good target," the jockey told www.racinguk.com.

"I've broken my right ankle before and it's the left one this time, so I guess I'm getting used to these setbacks.

Walsh continued: "It's obviously frustrating but it's a quiet time of the year for Willie Mullins and Paul Nicholls, so I'm not missing much.

"I am not that mobile as I've bruised my shoulder and have a cast around my ankle, which means I've been enjoying a lot of the Olympics on TV.

"I'm not sure what I'm going to do next week when it's all over!"
