Carberry hoping for a quick return

Paul Carberry hopes to be back in competitive action before the end of the month after undergoing an MRI scan on his injured shoulder on Tuesday.

One of Irish racing's biggest names was ruled out of the Galway Festival when he suffered a fracture to his left shoulder blade in a fall at Killarney during the middle of July.

While he is still waiting on the full results of his latest assessment, early signs are positive and the 38-year-old is relishing the prospect of getting back in the saddle.

"I haven't had the full results back yet, but the doctors think the shoulder is after improving a lot in the last few days, which is good news," said Carberry.

"I can't say for sure until we get the results back, but they (doctors) think it's OK and hopefully I'll be back riding in a couple of weeks.

"I'm looking forward to getting back."
