Preview of Galway Festival Day 4

Thursday is Guinness Galway Hurdle day at Ballybrit and Drive Time spearheads a strong Willie Mullins assault on the valuable handicap.

Unbeaten in two starts since arriving at the champion trainer's stable, the Graham Wylie-owned seven-year-old is joined by stable companions Rattan and Blazing Tempo - last year's Plate heroine.

Moon Dice won this race 12 months ago and is back for more, while Rebel Fitz has been prominent in ante-post lists since beating the reopposing Captain Cee Bee and The Real Article in the Grimes Hurdle at Tipperary.

Donald McCain took this prize with Overturn in 2010 and relies on Lexi's Boy this time, with Kevin Ryan's Unknown Rebel adding further strength to the British challenge.

Mullins teams up with Ruby Walsh in the Arthur Guinness Fund Novice Hurdle with Letherbelucky, who beat subsequent winner Audrelles Lad on these terms at Roscommon.

Mullins will also have high hopes for Laganbank in the Guinness Series Novice Chase, although this is a competitive affair, with Eightybarackstreet, Dazzling Susie and Great Oaks also arriving in winning form.

The NH maestro turns his attentions to the level when Pat Smullen goes to post for the IRFU Charitable Trust Handicap on recent Roscommon scorer Call Me Bubbles, and his newcomer Shes Tensixtysix does battle with Dermot Weld's debutant Indian Winter in the Arthur's Legacy INH Flat Race.

The Arthur Guinness EBF Corrib Fillies Stakes carries Listed status and sees Aidan O'Brien's Sweet Mimosa Stakes winner Empowering attempting to confirm that Naas superiority over Caprella, After, Lady Wingshot and Rock On Ciara.

Yellow Rosebud hasn't been seen since flopping in the Irish 1000 Guineas but has been freshened up by Weld and is a big danger.

The master of Rosewell starts Force Of Habit over fences in the opening Perfect Pint Beginners Chase (1.50), before applying blinkers to Font Of Wisdom in the Guinness Time Handicap.
