Snow Fairy will not make her reappearance in Saturday's Markel Insurance Nassau Stakes at Goodwood.
The five-year-old has been sidelined by injury so far this term and has not been seen since winning in Japan last November.
Snow Fairy finished second to Midday in the Nassau last term and trainer Ed Dunlop had viewed the 10-furlong heat as a possible starting point.
However, he is now keen to give the daughter of Intikhab a little more time.
He tweeted: "Snow Fairy will not be kept in the Nassau, all well with her but race will come too soon."
Dunlop added on At The Races: "She did a piece of work this morning under Ryan Moore and worked well but the Nassau is probably going to come two weeks too soon. We could take her for a racecourse gallop.
"She needed her first race in the Eclipse badly last season and she's now five so wherever she runs she's likely to need her first race.
"She seems bigger and stronger and still very much interested in the game so we're hopeful but we're not going to know until we get her back on a racecourse."
In Snow Fairy's absence, 10 have been declared, headed by the in-form Izzi Top, who is unbeaten this year.
The four-year-old represents the red-hot John Gosden who could also run Investec Oaks third The Fugue.
Aidan O'Brien has left in Epsom heroine Was, Maybe and Up.
Roger Varian's Nahrain, a bitter disappointment on her return to action in the Windsor Forest, will be aiming to bounce back to the form she showed last year, while Henry Cecil will be looking to add to his excellent Nassau record with Timepiece.
Clinical, Lay Time and Sea Of Heartbreak make up the classy field.
