Jockey Brendan Powell is hoping to be fit for action at the Galway Festival next week.
The rider has been sidelined for just over a week after being knocked unconscious when he fell from The Lemonpie at Southwell on 15 July.
Powell undertook a concussion test with the British Horseracing Authority's Dr Michael Turner on Monday, but has been told to wait a further seven days before taking the test again.
He tweeted: "Sadly won't be able to ride for another week but will hopefully be back for Galway in a week's time."
The jockey's father, trainer Brendan Powell, expanded on the situation.
He said: "He has to take another concussion test on Monday. He had one yesterday but Dr Turner wasn't totally happy with him, although he feels 100%."
"He feels fit and well and wants to get back, but I said to him this morning that a couple of years ago he would have had to have waited 21 days, so a couple of weeks isn't that bad.
"He's hoping to pass the test next Monday as he wants to be back for Galway. He might have a couple of rides in the handicaps for Irish trainers."
