Main Sequence could star in Great Voltigeur

Main Sequence is likely to have his next start in the Neptune Investment Management Great Voltigeur at York on 22 August as he builds towards a crack at the Ladbrokes St Leger.

David Lanigan's Aldebaran colt began the season in handicap company off a mark of 89 and did not lose his unbeaten record until taking on Camelot in the Derby.

Last time out he was regarded by some as an unlucky loser behind Camelot's stablemate Imperial Monarch in the Grand Prix de Paris.

"It is not set in stone yet but we are looking at the Great Voltigeur and then the St Leger," said Alan Cooper, racing manager to owners the Niarchos family.

"That is not definite yet, but David is very happy with the horse and he has come out of his last race well.

"We'll take our time, there's still four weeks until the Voltigeur, a lot can happen, so we've plenty of time to decide.

"What happened in France was unfortunate but a race is a race and we look forward to the next one now."
