Preview of Wexford's Saturday action

With next weekend's Irish Guineas meeting at the Curragh now firmly on the horizon, Saturday's action is modest, with Wexford staging a seven-race card.

Racing begins at 2.10 with the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Fillies Maiden, in which Jim Bolger's challenger Miss Forde should prove hard to beat after shaping with promise when finishing second on her Dundalk debut last month.

Despite being well beaten on that occasion, the form looks solid enough and she has been found a decent opportunity.

The pick of the day's action on paper would appear to be the Barrow Rated Race, in which some interesting maidens line up.

King's Warrant looks the most appealing of those, having shown well in four starts so far. Ger Lyons' charge is unlikely to have things all his own way, however, with Sinetta and Voleuse De Coeurs both coming here on the back of recent runner-up efforts.

The Black Point Handicap looks fiercely competitive and Joanna Morgan's Porterman, fifth in a Leopardstown handicap last time has significantly less on his plate this time around.

Only South South West and Light Of Equuleus can boast decent form claims in opposition in what is otherwise a weak affair.

Willie McCreery's recent winner Ionisphere rates the one to beat in the Owenduff Handicap, but this drop back in trip might not play to his strengths after he produced a thorough staying performance at Clonmel.

Willie Mullins sends dual winning hurdler Earls Quarter for the Owenavarragh (QR) Maiden, and the champion trainer looks to hold the key in the concluding Borro Mares INH Flat Race with Chiltern Hills.
